Cameroon – Honor and Loyalty : Consolidating the Bond Between the Army and the Nation in 2023: a strategic prescription from the Head of State, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces

 

The consolidation of the bond between the Army and the Nation as a strategic prescription is an expression of satisfaction so far for a job well done.For the soldier subjected to a rigorous discipline affecting all aspects of a profession full of constraints, limits and servitude, the positive appreciation of the leader, and moreover of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, is at the same time a badge of reward, a source of motivation and inspiration. Let’s not forget that the Army draws most of its traditions from ancient monastic orders renowned for the rigour of their rules, the austerity of their way of life, and the selflessness and fearlessnessof their members.


For those to whom the presidential appreciation of December 31, 2022 is addressed, in this case the staff of the Cameroonian Defence and Security Forces, the solemn recognition of the volume and merits of the efforts tirelessly deployed to maintain aserene atmosphere for our people, produces a clinical effect similar to that of a balm on joints that are sore from strain. On the psychological side, this is a powerful tonic for the morale of the defenders of the fatherland, who are often faced with difficulties and other hostilities that are not only operational.


In the barracks, praise from the highest authority is all the more appreciated as it stems from an undeniable reality. In the fight against banditry, crime and terrorism, our troops remain in control of the situation, more galvanised by the knowledge that at the same time, on the diplomatic and legal scene, other patriotic fighters are winning important battles.

However legitimate it may be, contentment cannot and should not water down the strength, let alone the clarity of the strategic vision behind the congratulations of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. It is an exhortation to stay the course of fidelity and loyalty to legal institutions and to pursue the public service mission, by demonstrating professionalism and humanity towards all. It is this relational attitude that has enabled us to benefit from the constantly affirmed collaboration of our people, a collaboration that has proven to be a decisive asset for the success of our operations to secure the national territory.



The strengthening of the bond between the Army and the Nation is in fact becoming a primary objective, both in our current struggleto eradicate attacks on our security, and in the perspective of future confrontations with other threats, whether additional or completely new.



Despite its thunder of attacks and hubbub of imprecations, adversity is forced to admit that Cameroon is firmly on its feet. And even, our country is speeding up its move towards its emergence, thanks to the unbeatable Army-Nation tandem. /-
