Cameroon - Honor and Loyalty : IRREDENTISM AND SEPARATISM IN CAMEROON : Who benefits from the crime???

Who benefits from the crime? This question has been on everyone’s lips ever since fundamentalist and separatist irredentism invaded our country. Somewhere, there must be someone for whom the indiscriminate acts of violence being perpetrated in some of our regions are a lucrative business. Someone who is activating and pulling the strings of the evil mechanism that has been expressly set up to plunge our country back into the barbaric times we once endured. A dark period in our history that only came to an end thanks to the determination of an entire people who were united, supportive and, above all, increasingly well-educated.

While unity and solidarity were the basic prerequisites for confronting the oppressors with a force that was both constant and irresistible, it was also necessary to be able to direct that force in a discriminating and proportionate manner. This required knowledge that enabled us to understand the cause, to see the objectives and to determine the ways and means of the struggle. In this way, we achieved the independence of which we can be proud today.
But far from marking the end of the struggle, independence is only one battle, albeit a legendary one, in the ongoing construction of our personality in an increasingly competitive, intrusive and even aggressive concert of nations. Developing in such an environment requires a critical mass of potential and skills capable of making a difference, both in assessments and in confrontations.

Fortunately, our country already possesses almost the entire range of known natural resources. A precious treasure which, if we are not careful, could slip through our fingers and into the hands of an international corporation of human rights violators, in reality, unscrupulous humanist pseudo-benefactors.

We therefore have an urgent duty to preserve and develop this treasure for our benefit. This means educating our people, especially our youth. This is something that the promoters of chaos, the sponsors of the irredentist and separatist movements, who claim to be pro-independence but are in fact brainwashed and enslaved, absolutely do not want.

Proof of this is the emphasis placed on the methodical destruction of places where knowledge is acquired, the murder of teachers and learners, and the banning of all scientific culture. Curiously, these dramatic events are taking place just as Cameroon is embarking on the next stage of its development, namely industrialisation. If Cameroon is not to be robbed of its wealth with virtually no compensation, if it is not to be robbed of its most promising brains, then it is destined for the most dreadful obscurantism.

In anticipation of a long-planned reoccupation, there is talk of barring our young people from the roads that lead to knowledge, the bedrock of power. And when the destruction of schools and the murder of learners and teachers are not enough to discourage the desire to learn, we resort to the trafficking of information in order to empty our country of its capacity to think and act. In short, it is our enemies who benefit from this crime.

Moreover, if we are all aware that destroying one’s own country is tantamount to surrendering to the enslavement of ignorance, then let us make education the first goal to be achieved. Then let us remain at the service of our country. At all times and in all circumstances, let us be committed, proactive and positive patriots, as the soldiers of the Cameroon Army are so admirably. /-
