CAMEROON: STRENGTHENS NATIONAL RESILIENCE IN THE FACE OF MISINFORMATION

Appearing in late 2019 in Asia, the new disease coronavirus spreads like wildfire, forcing humans to abandon a number of practices and adopt new ones to guard against the menace that quickly became a pandemic. Personal hygiene measures, a behavioural attitude endorsed and social distancing recommended, for the same purposes. This set of precautions appears to have been incredibly effective in keeping COVID-19 contagiousness and death rates at extremely low levels on the African continent in general, and Cameroon in particular.

With a little less than a thousand deaths for a population of 25 million inhabitants, apart from the very many communities of foreigners living on its soil, Cameroon has a COVID-19 death rate of 1.45%, while the world average is far above 2%. Our country so denigrated actually has an absurdly low ratio, compared to those of countries considered having the very high sophisticated technical platforms.

Indeed, we remember well the holding on the platforms of propaganda and mind-

Agencies, of these endless sessions of denigration organized for the African race, probably threatened with extinction by the elusive virus. The essentialization of the inability of Africans to foresee, control and project themselves into the future has become the favourite subject of experts of all stripes, too happy to hide their ignorance about the disease at little cost, as well as the deficiencies in the response to it in their own countries of origin.

The cruel reality of the facts will have come somewhat to tamper the uproar of the ranting, even though some unrepentant of the ostrich policy, would nonetheless continue to look at themselves in the mirror, only to contemplate the distress of others. . Thus, after dirty tricks for the grabbing of masks, and following the puzzling wars over the most appropriate medications, the time seems to have come to stigmatize Africa again, this time on the low anti-covid vaccine coverage, so far carried out by the continent.

A deliberately summarised assertion, with the sole aim of refuting the immense efforts made by our countries, faced with the confiscation of the vaccine by those who would like to use it as a lever of politico-diplomatic pressure.

After all, only linked to the panic caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus. Because long before the onset of the current pandemic, some had already elevated the sham to the rank of a fundamental factor of influence or power.

Cameroon is in many ways a victim of this strategy of defamatory presumption, it whose reputation as a valiant Defence Force is constantly projected through the prism that distorts cognitive biases, in other words, deceptive and falsely logical thought patterns. Thus, the Cameroonian army is winning victories in its operations to secure the national territory; here we are lending it weapons that it does not have, operating methods that it does not use.

This same Defence Forces are greeted with passion wherever it is deployed, whether in Cameroon or abroad, it is quickly blamed for immoralities that it does not practice. Quite simply because the Cameroonian Defence Forces being that of an African and sub-Saharan country, would be fundamentally incapable of technical prowess and moral rectitude.

The numerous denunciations which support these prejudices having proved their inconsistency because very often unfounded, one comes to preventive incriminations, one resorts to prophesied exactions, a bit like others who ambush.

In the same light, wicked analyses encourage despair and felony rather than an entrepreneurial spirit and a taste for effort, falsified theories build fake revolutionary consciousness’s, while the captious discourse anesthetizes even at the slightest desire for light, the consciousness that one would like to convince of the emancipatory virtues of sadomasochism and enslavement.

In this doctrine of the lying dialectic, the setting fire to one's own country is a highly patriotic act, the burning of schools and the destruction of hospitals are presented as promoting scientific progress, the heroism of mass killers is celebrated, human bombs are set up as martyrs, while the slaughter of women and children are acts of extreme virtue.

asymmetrical analogies, and simplistic solutions. The sophistication of menticide, which transforms peaceful citizens into stubborn troublemakers, those troubles to which we have previously given the names of seasons unknown in our permission, with their share of disasters.

Instead of continuing to serve as permeable sponges for these ready-to-eat theories, an urgent reconciliation with our roots, our Institutions and ourselves is needed. It is about our future, it is about our freedom, it is about our health. It is for the safety of us all!
