Cameroon - Honor and Loyalty : GLOBAL PEACE : HUMANITY ON THE BRINK OF EXTINCTION? 


Let’s take a closer look at the dangerous trends the world is taking. We might ask ourselves whether it is history that takes malicious delight in repeating itself in its most sordid episodes, or whether it is humanity that has failed to live up to its name. Unrepentant sado-masochists, supposedly endowed with an intelligence superior to that of any other species, human beings nevertheless take a disturbing delight in perpetuating the causes of their endless anguish and tragic defeats.



In the space of nine hundred years, between the 11th and 20th centuries, humanity has caused many disasters. Religious wars, the slave trade, colonisation and world wars have followed, juxtaposed, overlapped and intertwined, each time threatening to wipe out forever every trace of the only civilisation in the solar system. The sight of bumpy roads, shattered buildings, corpses lying unburied, terrified people fleeing from machine-gun fire on the ground and aerial bombardment, hardly arouses emotion or indignation, it has become so habitual that it is now commonplace.



Rural creativity and scientific progress do not serve the welfare and preservation of the human species, but rather the development of tactics and weapons of ever-greater mass destruction. Even music, which is supposed to soften morality, is used to spread inflammatory messages. On planet Earth, which some say is becoming overpopulated, the sword and fire seem to be the most effective instruments for regulating population growth. Which, as you might expect, suits the doctrinaires of stockpiling and hoarding.


Today, this transnationalised slaughter of human beings has become a commercial speculation, promoted, popularised and even heavily subsidised, relentlessly conquering new markets as the race for natural resources intensifies. And while every day brings the world a little closer to the brink of extinction, there seems to be virtually nothing to stop the pained humans we have become from intensifying our suicidal impulses. Nothing to convince us to make a 180° turn away from the abyss for the salvation of the human race.


A certain pragmatic spirit, imbued with secular wisdom, might rightly argue that there is nothing new under the sun. Indeed, there is nothing new under the sun, but by learning from the misfortunes of the past, today’s generations should be able to break the vicious cycle of our endless tragedies. For its own sustainability, humanity should rid itself of this disempowering and destructive fatalism that leads it to work towards its own destruction.



But we must also be aware of the critical urgency of putting a definitive end to the deadly schemes of the propagandists of ignorance, whose ambition is to send hordes of young barbarians to sweep away everything that symbolises the pride of our civilisation. In the meantime, why not serve the common good by curbing the actions of the shareholders of the new international criminal conglomerates who kill and destroy under the pretext of empowering peoples?

More than ever, it is time to neutralise the proselytes of the new ideological feudalisms, which are based on the falsification of religious and cultural subjectivities and which, like them, carry exclusionary or supremacist messages that promote the disintegration of our societies.


To return to our past, in a thousand and one ways human history, through its darkest and most painful events, continues to warn us against the ignorance of youth, the machinations of circles of influence and the strange silence of conscientious objectors. All these precursors together are today preparing the ground for tomorrow’s holocausts!
