Cameroon - 2025 Presidential Elections: The Liberal Alliance Party presents its candidate ATEKI SETA CAXTON, the choice of global Africanity

Torn between a climate of change and innovation, the arrival of a new era seems to be announced in this very elitist political divide.Cameroon, a diverse country whose uniqueness suffers from nothing, sees the emergence of a prestigious, even historic, figure in this political scene of October 2025. This is without a doubt the Candidate invested by the PAL (Liberal Alliance Party) ATEKI SETA CAXTON. Aged 39, originally from the North-West region (Bengui), perfectly bilingual, he undoubtedly represents on his own the imagery in profile of the Cameroonian citizen for the presidential election of October 12, 2025.

This is how this August 1, 2025, the official presentation of the candidate ATEKI SETA CAXTON took place during a press conference held at the Yahoot Hotel in Yaoundé. Present alongside the National President of PAL His Majesty Célestin BEDZIGUI, he presented his vision and his political program for Cameroon.Let us recall that he is a very active figure in Cameroon and even internationally (has visited significantly 36 countries). Founder of "New Seta", he is also a consultant in Global Governance, Expert in the field of management of autonomous communes and celebrates diversity through his research.Holder of a Bachelor's degree in History, he also holds a Master's degree in International Relations and is currently preparing a Doctorate.

The President of the PAL, the immense political personality that His Majesty Célestin BEDZIGUI represents, was keen to emphasize that his choice was made on this young dynamic in order to convey a strong message to the rest of the political community. Knowing that the PAL has never presented candidates for the presidential election, this decision according to the President of the PAL is the culmination of a long reflection by the party (a vision of the new generation never ceases to chant Célestin Bedzigui).

Throughout his speech, the PAL President emphasized the need to pass the baton, which results from a process of experience transfer, accompanied by sacrificial leadership, thus facilitating the sharing of experiences. He then focused his speech on a specific point, namely the economic issue and his vision for the new generation.

In view of these reactions, ATEKI SETA CAXTON thus played along and outlined his vision for change, emphasizing the new reforms necessary for Cameroon's development.Below is an excerpt from his plan, which follows the adage: "Cameroon deserves better; it's now or never."

My vision  for change

My campaign is rooted in a bold vision of development, acoloniality, which centers local initiative as the new standard of reference in development. Acoloniality refers to a state of indifference to colonial and postcolonial structures and ideologies. It imagines a world where colonial systems have become obsolete in guiding the development of formerly dominated peoples.

The postcolonial era did not mark a clear break with the colonial period; rather, it seems to prolong the shadow of colonial domination within our postcolonial states. Postcoloniality stretches into infinity, with no end in sight, and is characterized by neocolonialism. After nearly seventy years of independence, efforts at decolonization and the fight against neocolonialism should produce tangible results. Otherwise, they become a futile and endless quest, thus perpetuating the narrative of colonial domination.

Acoloniality, therefore, does not simply herald a new era; it transcends the persistent binary of colonial and postcolonial, and forces us to question the foundations we want to lay for future generations. It embodies a future free from colonial and postcolonial shackles, rooted in African realities and aspirations.

This campaign goes beyond presidential ambition. It ushers in a pivotal moment of resolute quest for meaning, vision, and African aspirations. It marks an epistemological shift toward a global Africanness, in which Africa, strong in its singularity, claims its rightful place in the concert of nations, while promoting its endogenous solutions, its economic development, its technological innovations, and its cultural renaissance.

This innovative framework designs an economy driven by endogenous drivers, based on local production, sovereignty over our resources, intra-African trade, and increased participation in global markets.

Cameroonians, Africans, the peoples of the Global South, and the entire world expect Africa to design a system of governance capable of voluntarily shifting our states from underdeveloped colonial vestiges to innovative, advanced and participatory models, based on consent rather than repression.

The concept of acoloniality projects a global Africanity—not an Africa closed in on itself, but one that shares our common humanity and participates fully in world affairs on an equal footing. It proposes a relational rather than an oppositional ontology, rebalancing power dynamics by engaging the world on African terms, leveraging external interactions while preserving our autonomy, and defining progress according to African standards rather than imported criteria.

The challenge facing us today is this: if Africa is to become the new benchmark for its own development, then it is imperative to imagine and forge the highest standards of human dignity and progress essential to the achievement of this ambition.

Close to the people, ATEKI SETA CAXTON single-handedly represents all of Cameroon's diversity through his bilingualism and his approach focused on a consensual and grassroots policy. He introduced the concept of Colonialism by highlighting Global Africanness. Change Leadership is thus his weapon for the emancipation of Cameroonian citizens. The issue of employment is also at the heart of his concerns, as he has discussed the implementation of an economy based on local production aimed at leading Cameroon towards expansive growth.

ATEKI SETA CAXTON, the nominated candidate of the PAL, is undoubtedly the figure who reassures and strongly conveys the consensual message of succinct dynamism and prompt development.
